I’m great at looking at the big picture or a problem and working on a plan to solve it. I have great attention to detail and I love to help people. I am happy in the background doing my thing. My buzz is knowing I helped you achieve your dream.
In my 20s, the desire to learn about computers led me to ditch my nursing career and dive into desktop publishing for the family business. For over 20 years, I worked alongside my family as we evolved our picture framing business that my parents started. We grew this business into an international manufacturer with branches in the UK and USA. We developed an e-commerce store in multiple currencies and sold online before it was a “thing” that everyone did. I headed a small software development and graphic design team. We designed proprietary software that enabled us to sell our products online. It truly was exciting times.
Almost 30 years ago, my husband and I became business partners —usually working harmoniously together but not always mind you! (I’ve written a book on this if you’re interested – “CouplePreneurs“)!
We have learned to complement each other’s strengths and make our business profitable.
Since 2010 I have been an Online Business Manager specialising in helping small to medium-sized family businesses navigate living, working and loving together.
Our family journey has been a rollercoaster of celebrations and commiserations. We’ve faced tough financial times, learned some hard life lessons, and survived the world’s toughest lockdowns in Victoria, Australia, thanks to a pandemic.
Through it all, we’ve discovered a resilience we never knew we had.
I am from a long line of entrepreneurs. My dad’s grandfather was a founder of what is now known as Sigma Pharmaceutical Company in the early 1900s. He strongly believed that we “all should leave the world a little better than how we found it”. My grandfather continued in the pharmaceutical industry. He owned numerous pharmacies in the Melbourne area. Several of his children worked in these also.
My mum’s parents ran a local milk bar when she was a young girl. They lived on the premises and worked long hours. Many years later my grandparents opened a retail store and worked there together until they retired.
Along my journey I have had some amazing clients, mentors and thought leaders cross my path and I have absorbed lessons from them all.
I look forward to your business joining this list.
